WPA-2010

  • The WPA is the Work Projects Administration.

During the last Great Depression, the WPA employed millions, repairing roads, building parks, and other public works. It reached out directly to people who needed it most, creating projects outside the U.S. Government’s usual remit.

Now, the WPA-2010 brings back small-scale, community-driven neighborhood recovery and action.

We provide employment and skills development for people to work in their own neighborhoods, to focus on projects chosen by their own community.

In short, we are a flexible coalition of citizens, spearheading small-scale community-driven initiatives in the drive towards our government following suit.

We’re putting us back in the U.S. Get involved!

  • Our work starts with you.

WPA-2010 is an effort to redress some of the inadequacies of the various bailout and recovery programs of 2009. In every community in the United States, there are small projects that deserve attention, many unemployed people, and a sense of disjunct from our current efforts at recovery.

We recognize this, and want to do something about it.

So, WPA-2010 starts with you. Contact us, tell us what your community needs, and we will work with the people in your neighborhood, hire people from your neighborhood, and develop public works chosen by the people in your neighborhood.
